1. General

By purchasing from Top Notch Cycles, also referred to as TNCycles or TNC, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. We reserve the right to update them at any time, and the updated version will take immediate effect once posted on our website. These terms govern all interactions, transactions, and engagements between Top Notch Cycles and its customers. By making a purchase, booking, or engaging in any business with us, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these terms in full. Failure to read these terms does not exempt any customer from their obligations. Customers are encouraged to review these terms periodically and to keep a copy for reference.

2. Orders & Payment

All bookings must be paid for on our website to secure a time slot unless an exemption has been agreed by Top Notch Cycles. Any additional costs for extra work carried out during the service must be paid at the point of bike drop-off or collection. We reserve the right to withhold the return of a bike until the full balance is settled. We accept cash, credit and debit cards, and digital payments. Prices are subject to change without notice. If a pricing error occurs, we will correct it and inform the customer. Orders not paid within the required timeframe may be cancelled. Special offers and discounts are subject to availability and may be withdrawn at any time.

3. Warranty (Products)

Warranty on bikes and parts is provided by the relevant manufacturer or supplier, and warranty periods vary by brand and product. This warranty does not cover wear and tear, accidental damage, or misuse. Customers are responsible for understanding the manufacturer’s warranty terms and must contact them directly for claims. Top Notch Cycles is not responsible for manufacturer defects, delays in warranty processing, or refusals by the manufacturer. Receipts and original packaging should be retained for warranty claims. Any modifications, alterations, or unauthorised repairs may void the manufacturer’s warranty.

4. Repairs & Servicing

Repair times are estimates and may vary. Customers will be notified of any additional costs before extra work is carried out. Unclaimed bikes left for more than 30 days may incur storage fees. We are not responsible for delays caused by supplier shortages, part availability, or unforeseen complications. Customers must provide clear repair instructions, and if additional issues are discovered, we will seek approval before proceeding. If customers fail to respond to service notifications within a reasonable time, we may apply storage fees or treat the bike as abandoned property.

As with most Irish bike shops, we guarantee our workmanship for 14 days from the date of service or bike return. Punctures or any service related to tubes and or tyres have a workmanship guarantee of 24 hours. If an issue directly related to our service arises within this period, we will rectify it at no additional cost. All repairs are carried out to a high standard, but bicycles are subject to wear, usage, and external factors. We therefore cannot guarantee that they will remain free from issues unrelated to the original service. Customers remain responsible for regular maintenance and routine safety checks.

5. Refund & Return Policy

Bikes and custom orders are non-refundable unless defective at purchase, in line with the Consumer Rights Act 2022. Exchanges may be offered at our discretion. Custom orders are non-refundable once production has started. We ask that defects are reported promptly, and ideally within 14 days, so we can resolve them quickly. This does not affect your statutory rights.

Parts and accessories may be refunded within 14 days if unused and in original packaging, with proof of purchase. Items must be in original condition, without signs of use, tampering, or damage. Opened or installed parts may not be eligible for refund or exchange. Customers are responsible for return shipping unless the item was delivered incorrectly or is faulty under consumer law.

Repairs and services are non-refundable once completed, unless the service was not performed with reasonable skill and care as required by Irish consumer law. Our 14-day workmanship guarantee applies, and if you are dissatisfied you must notify us within this period so we can assess and, if necessary, redo the work. Where issues persist, we will offer repair or replacement, and if that still does not resolve the problem, a refund will be given for the affected part of the service only. Other elements of the service that were completed with reasonable skill and care will not be refunded.

6. Liability

Cycling carries inherent risks. Customers are responsible for ensuring their bike is safe to ride after collection. We are not liable for accidents, injuries, or losses caused by misuse, lack of maintenance, or conditions outside of our control. Customers should perform a safety check before riding, including brakes, tyres, frame integrity, and moving components. Riders are expected to wear appropriate safety gear, obey traffic laws, and operate their bike responsibly. Any modifications made to the bike after service may affect safety and will not be covered under our workmanship guarantee. By accepting their bike post-service, customers confirm they are satisfied with the work and take responsibility for its ongoing condition.

7. Staff and Standards

All of our staff are vetted and trained to ensure they meet the professional standards expected at Top Notch Cycles. We invest in ongoing training and development so that our team can provide high-quality service in line with current industry practices. Customers can be confident that their bikes are being handled by experienced and competent mechanics who take pride in their work.

8. Statutory Rights

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions overrides your statutory rights under Irish or EU consumer protection law, including the Consumer Rights Act 2022. If any provision in these terms is deemed unfair or unenforceable, the rest will remain valid.
